Posted this on February 16, 2012. Same thing happened to me less than two months after I purchased a Half Time Convection Microwave oven through Wal-Mart online. I called the company in Florida and they said the motor that turns the metal shaft under the glass plate needs to be replaced. They put the wrong motor in when they were manufactured. They said if you replace the plastic part, it will just melt like the first one did. If it is too late to return it to place of purchase (Wal-Mart gives you 3 months for returns), the company will send you a shipping carton and it won't cost you anything for shipping. They will replace the motor and send the oven back to you. If you are mechanically inclined, they will send you the new motor and you can replace it yourself. Their number is 1-800-330-9707
