School uniforms help students from forming gangs by promoting a sense of equality and community among students. It eliminates competition based on clothing brands and styles, reducing the urge to affiliate with a group for identity. Uniforms also discourage displaying gang colors or symbols, making it harder for students to identify with or gather around such imagery.
School uniforms can help prevent the formation of gangs by reducing the visibility of gang-related symbols or colors that members might otherwise wear to signify their affiliation. Uniforms can create a sense of equality among students, minimizing the potential for gang-related rivalries based on appearance or clothing choices. Implementing a dress code through uniforms can also discourage the display of gang-related attire or accessories.
not really and im syaing this from personal experience Yes. With the help of school uniforms, violence in schools can be reduced. Kids that are involved in gangs are not permitted to wear gang colors or symbols. They also can not wear loose and bagy clothing that often conceals weapons and/or drugs.
Yes, Eazy-E was associated with the Crips gang in his early life before finding success as a rapper and forming the group N.W.A.
Gangs have become an increasing alarm to our societies because they tempt young students to believe this fantasy of glory and power within this harsh social conflict. I strongly encourage uniforms in schools and discourage students to wear gang related shirts or colors because they're promoting violence and the fantasized "coolness" of wearing these shirts. It's almost as if wearing them creates emphasis on them and makes them feel more powerful. If a student is troubled and disagrees with wearing them then it must be that they promote it because someone who doesn't care about what their shirt reflects wouldn't care about not wearing them. Even if this was a freedom of expression argument, one must be aware that even in a nation where freedom of expression is a strong foundation one cannot state nor do as one pleases, there are boundaries in which to follow.
The term "slob" is a derogatory term used by the Bloods gang to refer to members of the Crips gang. It is often used as an insult and to show disrespect towards their rival gang.
School Uniforms mean nothing to the Gang Members at any school.
The majority of private school students need to wear uniforms everyday when attending classes. In recent years, in part to combat gang affiliations and gang violence, some public schools have also instituted uniform policies. There are pros and cons of school uniforms, but as a parent, there are always costs associated with back to school clothes shopping.

Students should be able to express themselves through their clothing outside of school hours, which can help develop their personal identity. Wearing uniforms can also be uncomfortable or impractical for students during their commute to and from school, especially in varying weather conditions. Lastly, allowing students to wear their own clothes to and from school can promote individuality and self-expression.
No it doesnt affect the school academic acheivments or the attendance but it causes an increase in behavioral issues and loss of time during classes because the children are uncomfortable looking like each other instead of expressing themselves. Conversely:While those who currently/previously have worn uniforms tend to be vehemently against them, the truth is that they help. In schools where uniforms are implemented, students tend to be more successful because they come to school, dressed their best. The tendency among students is that those who are dressed in uniforms do perform better in school because they are not focused on the latest trends or possibly their lack of the monetary needs for these styles. As far as school safety, uniforms can prevent students from wearing gang related clothing. In many high schools the se of uniforms has significantly dropped gang related violence on their campuses. Also, uniforms tend to create a unifying denominator that allows for students to feel less threatened from their peers which can also decrease school bullying.
School uniforms can help make schools safer by promoting a sense of unity and equality among students, reducing instances of clothing-related gang affiliations or bullying, and making it easier to identify intruders on school grounds. Additionally, uniforms can help prevent distractions and conflicts related to clothing choices.
That is at least one of the stated reasons. However, most schools which use uniforms do so for other reasons, whether it is religious reasons or because it seems to make teachers' jobs easier. In some cases, uniforms might help with safety. Wealthier students might be less likely to get killed over their clothes. If students are members of rival gangs, they won't be able to wear their colors and distinguish themselves. But it won't help in the case of gang signs. You can just as easily make gang symbols with your hands in a school uniform as you would in a sagging pair of pants made by some urban brand. It is ironic that some of the urban brands also make work and school uniforms.
Depends on the school district. In some they are and others they are not. There is a basic thinking in some places that what students wear determines and sets attitude. Sloppy attire means a sloppy attitude and shows a not caring about learning. Uniforms also prevent gang colors from one gang or another and students trying to show off to fellow students. A dress code is also teaching students a bit about real life since in life and professions require people to look a certain way. An employer has the right to tell an employee how to dress, wear their hair, if they can have facial hair, and what type of jewelry they can have on while at work. It is good for students to understand that in life this will happen and what better place to learn this but in school ?
1. Students will not judge each other based on clothing and will develop friendships with people they otherwise wouldn't talk to. 2. Saves money. 3. Students always look presentable, are comfortable, and have increased confidence because they know they aren't being judged by uniforms. I have been wearing uniforms for the past 12 years and they are great! It's a no-brainer when I have to get dressed for school. I don't have to worry about what I'm wearing everyday. I couldn't imagine not wearing uniforms! and now days they wear them due to to many gang fightings during school.
There are many reason a school uniform should be required. First off, I believe that school uniforms are needed because they help to establish equality between students. Secondly, I also believe that it can help you save money on expensive designer clothes. I also think that school uniforms should be required because they can also help reduce the rate of bullying and help diminish gang display in school (Bandannas, sagging pants...). Lastly, I think that school uniforms should be required in school because it makes it easier in the morning to wake up and know exactly what you are going to wear to school, which can save time.
You can distinguish between people who come to school who should not be there and the students because they are all dressed the same. In addition, uniforms prevent people from using clothing as signage to represent their chosen lifestyles or gang affiliations. Also, many kids in urban neighborhoods do not have a large variety of clothes and/or designer brand cloths, so the uniformity that uniforms provide is a comfort for those kids who would otherwise feel left out.
Well, school uniforms take away a kid's chance to express thereselff. Also, adults seeing children walking in groups with unifroms may think they are part of a gang. Many uniforms are quit expensive too. Also most uniforms have a polo shirt thus making kids look "nerdy" I have nothing agaist nerds, but many look down on them. School uniforms are also very ugly looking in my opinoin
