In the State of Florida a felon has no rights, we are now second class citizens. No apartment complex will rent to a felon or someone with a misdemeanor. I was raised great, made mistakes growing up, and now I am paying for the rest of my life. I cant live anywhere clean and quiet and nice. Its always in low income ghettos. I hate it but we can't do anything about it because there are too many people that are against us. Just remember they give an apartment to who they think is better than you, but get burned anyway. Just like a job, they hire someone else the deem better than you and the person with no record robs them blind, molests their children, or busts in the movie theater and kills a bunch of people. See me a s a felon, I have seen the bad side of the world and the other side of that gate....and I see the future only. I am not gonna steal anything, kill anyone, hurt anyone because I never want to return again. But no one cares, and they don't wish to grant second chances.

Do dropped charges show up on background check?

Not only does it show up on your background. The initially charge for which you where arrested/charged stays the same just get it expunge if you can. Good Luck This person is incorrect. If you are convicted of a crime then it show up on you back ground check. But if the charges are dropped then you were never convicted of that crime and it will NOT show up on background check. Court Documents can be researched to find out what the original charge may have been, but it you are doing a background check for a job then they do NOT look for that type of information. They only want to know what you were convicted of. You get this expunged if you were convicted of a crime and it has been several years since the conviction took place.

Can you get housing with a felony?

It may be challenging to secure housing with a felony on your record as some landlords or property management companies may have policies against renting to individuals with criminal convictions. However, it is possible to find housing by being upfront about your past, seeking housing that is designated for individuals with criminal histories, or by working with reentry programs or organizations that assist with housing.

How can one find apartments in Greensboro?

Generally speaking apartment complexes anywhere in the United States are reluctant to rent out to convicted felons. But many apartment complexes will rent out to such if the offense was nonviolent in nature, it's been a long time since the offense occurred or since the person has been released from any state sanctions, which ever occurred later, and i if the convicted felon has otherwise developed an excellent credit history. That being said, if you are convicted felon you are better off trying to rent an apartment or house from an individual landlord, who may be more lax than apartment complexes are at tenant selection.
