The Speedwell, was the ship that sailed with the Mayflower. It was mostly for carrying food and supplies for the Pilgrims. However, the Mayflower had to turn back and return home twice, because the Speedwell, continued to have leakage problems. So, eventually the Mayflower sailed out alone. Of course doing this, caused a shortage in food and water supplies. It also caused sickness and death for some before they landed in Massachusetts in 1620.
