The only regular railway runs down the east coast of the island although their is a heritage steam railway which meets up with it. To get to Freshwater, take a train to Lymington Pier in Hampshire (they leave from London Waterloo) and the ferry to Yarmouth on the Isle of Wight. The Southern Vectis no 7 bus takes you from the ferry terminal to Freshwater and Freshwater Bay. There are regular Southern Vectis buses to all parts of the island.
