Susan Constant, Godspeed and Discovery
Before the Mayflower, the Pilgrims sailed on a ship called the Speedwell. The Speedwell was intended to transport them from England to the New World, but it encountered multiple leaks and was deemed unseaworthy. After several attempts to fix it, the Pilgrims ultimately abandoned the Speedwell and transferred to the Mayflower, which successfully carried them to America in 1620.
Mayflower was the ship in which the Puritans (the "Pilgrim Fathers") arrived in America from England in 1620. They had made the Mayflower Compact on the board before they arrived, which was a subscription to a covenant for self-government. They landed at Cape Cod, Massachusetts.

Newlyn

Mayflower Compact.
No. Other ships were here before the Mayflower. The Mayflower came in 1620. Prior to that there were a number of other Explorers including Hudson and Cabot that explored the continent.
One year before the arrivalof the mayflower
The Mayflower came to the United States in the year 1620, fourteen years before George Calvert came to America with persecuted Christians from Europe.
Based on some of the disagreements while they were still on the ship that brought them to America, the leaders knew they needed some sort of document that would compel the settlers to work together as a team. The document was called the Mayflower Compact, and was signed before the pilgrims disembarked at the New World.
The Mayflower is famous for being the ship that transported the Pilgrims from England to North America in 1620. This voyage led to the establishment of Plymouth Colony, one of the first successful English settlements in the New World. The Mayflower is also notable for the Mayflower Compact, a pioneering document in self-governance and democratic principles signed by the passengers before disembarking. Its historical significance is celebrated in American culture as a symbol of early exploration and settlement.
no because the Jamestown settlers came before the Mayflower people. -- BTW not true. Absolutely not! There is proof that the Vikings were in North America long before The Mayflower; also the Spanish settlement of St. Augustine was before the Mayflower time. Finally there is some proof and stories that Zheng He came to North America. I believe there is an excavation going on right now in Washington that is digging up a ship that may have been his.
