Odysseus did not want to agitate his men and he didn't want them to go belowdeck for fear that Scylla might destroy them all. So, he didn't warn them.
Circe warns Odysseus of the dangers in store for him and his crew on their journey home. These dangers include the Sirens, Rovers, Scylla and Charybdis, and Helio if his cattle are slaughtered.
Polyphemus is a Cyclops who traps Odysseus and his men in a cave in Homer's epic poem The Odyssey. He is blinded by Odysseus and his men as they escape, leading to Poseidon's anger towards Odysseus. Polyphemus is a symbol of the dangers that the hero faces on his journey home.
If he were to tell his crew about the dangers that awaited them they never would have sailed.
Calypso told Odysseus that if he did not sacrifice six men to the Scylla he would lose his whole ship to Charybdis. If he had told his men of the dangers they might not have agreed to sail through Scylla's passage.
The sailors ears were plugged so that they could not hear and Odysseus was lashed to the mast.
Teiresias tells Odysseus to avoid the herds of Helios cattle on Thrinakia. Teiresisas saw that if Odysseus and men ate the cattle it would bring about their destruction.
Circe's and Teiresias' last prophecy to Odysseus is that he alone will survive the journey. They also warn him against harming the sacred cattle of Helios, which ultimately causes the death of his men.
