Gasper Corte Real, a Portuguese explorer active in the early 16th century, primarily used caravels for his voyages. Caravels were small, highly maneuverable ships that were well-suited for exploration due to their ability to sail against the wind and navigate coastal waters. These ships allowed Corte Real to explore and map parts of North America, particularly around Newfoundland and the Arctic regions. Their design made them ideal for long voyages and exploration during the Age of Discovery.
His death was pretty much unknown. as his brother went to sea to search for him during 1501, he found nothing. Gaspar corte real did die in sea on a ship while he was exploring. Hope this helps :D
