Queen Anne's Revenge was built in the early 18th century as a merchant vessel, originally named La Concorde. It was later captured by the infamous pirate Blackbeard (Edward Teach) in 1716 and repurposed as his flagship. The ship was used for piracy along the American coast and the Caribbean, enabling Blackbeard to amass wealth and notoriety during the Golden Age of Piracy. Its construction and subsequent use highlight the era's maritime commerce and the rise of piracy.

Well I Only Know a few but here's my fave one. Queens Annes Revenge
Originally it was named "Concord", built in 1710 in Britain and captured in 1711 by the French who renamed it "Le Concorde de Nantes". It was then captured again by Cpt. Benjamin Hornigold in 1717. Hornigold turned the ship over to one of his pirates, Edward Teach (Blackbeard). Blackbeard renamed Le Concorde "Queen Anne's Revenge" and used it as his flagship.
Twas but the Queen Anne's Revenge.
Blackbeard was not an admiral. He was a pirate. His pirate ship (not flagship) was named the Queen Anne's Revenge.
First, the ship is named the Queen Anne's Revenge. The pirate was Edward Teach aka Blackbeard
Queen Anne's Revenge :)
the queen anne revenge(blackbeards ship)
Blackbeard's ship was called the Queen Anne's Revenge as a nod to Queen Anne, who was the reigning monarch of Great Britain during the early 18th century, a time when piracy was rampant in the Caribbean. The name likely reflected both a sense of pride and a desire to invoke the image of a powerful ship associated with the crown. Originally a French slave ship named La Concorde, it was captured by Blackbeard in 1716 and rebranded to reflect his notorious reputation and ambitions as a pirate. The ship became infamous for its role in Blackbeard's exploits, symbolizing the golden age of piracy.
