The native American rain shakers are hollow cactus with pebbles to rattle like the sound of rain used in the rain dance rituals to invoke the rain gods performed both by men and women wearing masks, eagle feathers and goat/horse hair, turquoise beads and other ritual native dress. They danced in a circular ziz zag formation rattling the rain shakers.
