After globalization and liberalization, we have MBO in most organizations. Although the government office culture is still rigid and hierarchical, but in multinational private organizations cosmopolitan culture is fast catching up.

Diversity and individual differences are two different concepts. While diversity in organization can be be a negative frictional force, which has to blend carefully in an open culture which is conductive to work. But on the other hand individual differences if tapped properly can be a positive force. It results in pooling of new ideas, innovation and foster healthy competition. When individual differences are managed constructively it leads to brain storming of decisions. It is much needed in research and IT organizations where constant change and innovation is required.
