It is a ceremony involving peircing, fasting, and of course dancing. It is a ritual, not "just" a dance. None of the Native American dances are just a dance, they all have meaning.

The grass dance is one that was used when the people were creating a new settlement on the long grass of the plains. Through this dance, the grass was flattened so that they could more easily place their lodges without doing long lasting damage to the earth. It is a beautiful dance!

depends, if you mean the type of dance, or a dance in native language. oh to add many people that arent native dont know tribes exist. im coushatta, you can look it up if you want. different types of dances in native american culture are jingle dress, fancy shawl (i am a fancy!), traditional, and so on (that was a few dances for women), for men they have chicken, grass, traditional, and so many others, too. take my advice because for one im not impersonating a native american cause i am one.
