Mexican Culture, has influenced American culture by a lot. In America, many people are gaining interest in speaking Spanish as a second/third language. Because Spanish is one of the world's most spoken languages. Some of southern American cuisine, is influenced by Mexican cuisine. Particularily originating in Texas. Nachos and burritos, are Tex-Mex food, not actually Mexican food. You don't find flour tortillas in Mexico! Maybe in some places, like Taco Bell. But Taco Bell is loosely based on Tex-Mex food. Most of all that burritos, flour/beef tacos, nachos are all Tex-Mex basically the typical stereotype Mexican cuisine. Real Mexican cuisine, is comprised of soups and seafoods.
Also, one of the activities that has gained a nationwide popularity in the United States is the pinata tradition. Celebrated during birthday parties. What happens is a box, a weak box of candies, money and goods is hung usually on a tree limb. Usually, this box is colorfully designed by paper machey (however you spell it), and usually shaped in a form of a cartoon character. The box is hit continously with a bat or a stick, until the a hole is breached into the thing with all the candy and goods spewing out. The children run in and play war to get all the candy they can. This is as popular in the United States as it is in Mexico. In fact, probably 1/2 of all the families who due pinatas are non-Mexicans or non-Mexican-Americans. Generally people with no Mexican traces. Even Chinese and Chinese-American families do pinatas.
