In his writings, General George Armstrong Custer often depicted Native Americans as savage and uncivilized, portraying them as obstacles to American expansion and progress. He painted a picture of Indigenous peoples as inherently violent and in need of suppression or elimination. Custer's biased and prejudiced views perpetuated harmful stereotypes and contributed to the justification of the violent and oppressive treatment of Native American tribes during the westward expansion of the United States.

Custer had been offered the use of Gatling guns but declined, believing they would slow his command.

Yes, the Gosselins are a real family. Kate explains that she does not want to paint a false picture for anyone and what you see is actually whats goes on.
George Armstrong Custer destroyed his military career in order to keep the corrupt Indian Bureau (run then by President Grant's son) from starving the Native Americans under his care. General Custer had no intention of attacking any Native Americans at the Little Big Horn and that is why he divided his troops-He was there to save the Indians from being attacked by a much larger force>George had an uncle (father's brother: George Washington Custer) who lived in Texas. I've not seen much concerning him but a mention he married a woman named Sidney Ann Reed. Little else is known. I'd follow that line as it seems more likely.
