what?
I don't know what Teotihuacan is, but I do know that Tenochtitlan was the capitol of a group Mesoamerican Indians that is now Mexico City, the capitol of Mexico.
Tenochtitlan.
The Aztecs
Mexico City's original name was Tenochtitlan.
Teotihuacan.
Mexico city
Tenochtitlan and the Aztecs are not the exact same thing. Tenochtitlan was the capital city of the Aztec empire. The Aztecs built the city of Tenochtitlan in the location where Mexico City is currently located.
They arrived to the Valley of Mexico on April 13, 1325. Then they founded their capital city, Mexico-Tenochtitlan.
After conquering the Aztecs, Cortes renamed the city of Tenochtitlan to Mexico City.
The city that the Spaniards built on the ruins of Tenochtitlan was named Mexico City.
Present-day Mexico city is located atop the ruins of ancient Tenochtitlan.
That is the correct spelling of the proper noun Tenochtitlan, the Aztec city now Mexico City.
