The Brahma was the highest group in the caste system in India.
The caste system is associated with Hinduism. It is a social hierarchy that categorizes people into different groups based on their birth, and has historically determined one's social status and opportunities in life.
Caste system was not intentionally introduced by a specific group. It came into existence naturally similar to class system in modern world. Those who were teachers, scholars, priests were considered respectable by all and thus made into a higher caste, on the other side, the sweepers and cleaners, whose work was considered filthy and unworthy naturally formed a low caste group. The untouchables were people that did not belong to a group of the caste, so they were not considered a group of the caste system. My World History teacher from the University of Arkansas in Monticello says that it included outcasts, "untouchables," and "children of God." Another name for "childern of God" is harijans.
Untouchables, The outcasts, Dalits.
