The anasazi made black on white pottery by grinding carbonaceous clay, mixing it with a temper (ground pottery pieces) and with water to form a clay body.
The clay was then formed into the desired shape (bowl, mug, kiva jar etc) and allowed to partially dry.
The pot was then slipped with a slip clay and this was allowed to dry.
The slip was burnished with a smooth stone and the pot was allowed to dry.
It was then painted with a organic paint (made from rocky mountain beeplant) or a mineral paint.
The pot was fired in a trench kiln.
See Clint Swinks book "Messages from the High Desert" for start to finish instructions.

The Anasazi.
yes
they were farmers
The Anasazi traded many things such as animals, pottery, beads, turquoise and a number of other things.
It usually depended on the piece they were making and how advanced the person making it was.
who made the sylvan pottery
the same as normal pottery is made
The Anasazi used pottery for cooking their food on open fires. They also used pits of hot coals in the ground. Their method was similar to using a Dutch oven.
Wheel made pottery is handmade, too. It is just that wheel made pottery is circular and other handmade items can be other shapes. The opposite is factory-made pottery, using moulds and machinery.
