First reported in the southeast corner of Harney Co. Oregon by mining engineer O.M. Rosendale around 1900. He found them in a black basalt formation and the only basalt in Harney Co. are the Trout Creek Mountains next to Nevada. My belief is these pueblo dwellings are not true cliff dwellings.

The true LOST OREGON CLIFF DWELLING'S were reported by an old timer with his mule travelling from Frenchglen to Wagontire, again in Harney County. The journey took him five days and on the third day he viewed them from the top of a canyon. Probably near Mule Springs Valley perhaps in Diablo Canyon, that's where I have searched. Avoid the secret government bunker or Air Guard jets will soon be on you. Close cattle gates behind you and take plenty of water, watch your step as this is rattlesnake country.
