The below statistics are useless toward answering the question. The questioner was almost certainly looking for RATES, not gross numbers, since by sheer volume whites would obviously be involved in the most accidents.

The below statistics also only show fatalities, not all accidents. They also do not show who *caused* the accident, which was the crux of the original question. For example, if a white driver is stopped at a traffic light and is hit and killed by a black driver who was trying to run the light and lost control of his vehicle but who was himself unhurt, the white driver's death would show up in the below statistics but they would show nothing about the black driver who hit him.

Even if you are able to find better data for this question, it also needs to adjust for the rates at which each ethnicity actually drives. For example, without having any data to back it up, we know that a higher percentage of the white population drives than does the black population, since more blacks than whites cannot afford cars/insurance and therefore rely on public transportation.

I've been looking for good data for this question as well and it has been impossible to find.

Non-Hispanic whites, because they are the majority.
