People have brown skin color primarily due to the presence of melanin, a pigment produced by specialized skin cells called melanocytes. The amount and type of melanin in the skin are influenced by genetic factors and evolutionary adaptations to different environmental conditions, particularly sunlight exposure. Higher melanin levels provide greater protection against ultraviolet (UV) radiation, which can lead to skin damage and increase the risk of skin cancer. Consequently, populations living in regions with intense sunlight typically have darker skin tones as a natural protective response.

No, "Black People" are not so called black, they are of African descent, and their skin colour varies from very dark brown to lighter shades, the same as Caucasian people, who originated in Europe, they can be very brown and go lighter depending as to how long they stay in the sun, then of course there is what you call Mediterranean skin colour or Asian. Native North American people are different skin colour again! Isn't it great that there are so many different people in the world?
