In the Greek Orthodox tradition, it is generally discouraged to conduct burials during Holy Week, as this period is dedicated to mourning and reflection leading up to Easter. However, if a death occurs during this time, the burial may still take place, but it is often postponed until after the celebrations of Pascha (Easter). Sunday, the first day of the week, is considered holy in Christianity as it commemorates the resurrection of Jesus Christ. The other days of the week also hold symbolic importance in various religious traditions.
