The irony in the deaths of Pyramus and Thisbe lies in their tragic misunderstandings. Both lovers believe the other is dead, leading Pyramus to take his own life out of grief, only for Thisbe to find him dead moments later and then to follow suit. Their deaths are a poignant commentary on the consequences of miscommunication and the tragic nature of love, emphasizing how their devotion ultimately leads to their undoing. This situational irony deepens the tragedy, as their love could have triumphed had they only been able to communicate effectively.
"Pyramus and Thisbe" is considered a lamentable comedy because it juxtaposes tragic themes of love and loss with a comedic and farcical presentation. The characters' misunderstandings and exaggerated performances create humor, despite the fact that their story ends in tragedy. This blend of serious and silly elements highlights the absurdity of their situation, making the audience laugh even as they mourn the characters' fate. The irony lies in how the intended tragic narrative is undercut by its own comedic execution.
It shouldn't be humorous or slapstick. The greatest twist is for the actor to play it extermely straight. Forlorn that the onstage audience is laughing at the actors not with them, and are making fun of them, Quince should "suck it up" and play the last speech like serious soap opera, making the onstage women weep and the men uncomfortable. After all in Shakespeare's day all the famous women's roles were played by young men. This gives a great juxtaposition for the cast and thus makes the lovers the fools. Do it as you like it, but that is way I directed it and it worked like a charm.
· 1. When the tape comes on listing the deaths that everyone has caused who is on the island. · 2. When they figure out U.N Owen is someone on the island. · 3. When the first person dies. · 4. That the deaths match up to the poem. · 5. That whenever someone dies one of the 10 little Indian Statues is gone. those are all of the situational irony i could think of...
I don't know the exactly what this type of irony is called, but I do know it is a definite example of irony. Effie is taking them to their possible deaths, and will enjoy watching children fight to the death for her entertainment, yet she has the audacity to chatise them for not eating with their silverware, because these people are starving.
The irony in "2BR02B" is that in a world where population control is enforced to the extreme, the protagonist struggles to find someone willing to give up their life so his child can live. Despite the government's efforts to maintain a perfect balance of births and deaths, the system proves flawed and ultimately cruel in its implementation.

verbal irony had to do with words, but situational irony has to do wit events.
irony
It's ironic that when Mercutio teases Romeo about being in love with Rosaline, Romeo is really in love with Juliet. It's ironic that the Friar advises Romeo to "love moderately" as he is about to perform the very sudden marriage between the passionate young people. Friar Laurence points out an irony as he gathers herbs: used correctly, poisonous herbs can cure disease, and vice-versa. This irony is mirrored in the play as whole, in which an good thing, the love of Romeo and Juliet, leads to their deaths, and a bad thing, the deaths of Romeo and Juliet, leads to a good thing, the end of the feud between the families.
