It depends on what you want to talk about, how you are going to approach the subject and what aspects of it you plan to dicuss. I'm writing an essay on teen suicide right now and spent all morning trying to figure out what my thesis statement would be. I decided to use "Today's media play a large and negative part in the increasing rate of suicidal teens in America." and talk about the medias affect. But you may prefer to write about the aftermath and the family and friends left behind, or that with proper education on the subject warning signs can be detected and help found before depression leads to suicide. You could discuss ideas on why teen suicide is higher in males than in females (if you do you should read "Real Boys" and "Real Boy's Voices" by William S. Pollack) or you could just steal mine. best of luck!!
