For a long time, people believed a full moon drived people crazy. It was associated with Insomnia, and Insanity. Doctor's have not found strong evidence that this is true, but then and even now, people still believe it. The reason for the suicides around this time is due to the, Insomnia and "Insanity", you see, when people cant sleep they get delusional, causing them to think oddly and let them believe that they are dreaming, making them lose all self-control.
=====
It may be relevant to know that (recent?) studies indicated that suicides do NOT, in fact, spike during full moons.
People just think they do.
There are no statistics to back up any special human behavior during full moons.

You do get full moons, once every 29 days.
There will be a total of 12 Full Moons this year, 2014.
Thirteen full moons occur over a period of approximately 12 months. Since a lunar cycle, or the time between one full moon and the next, is about 29.5 days, 13 full moons would take around 354 days to complete. This is about 11 days shorter than a typical calendar year, which is why some years can have 13 full moons, often referred to as a "blue moon" when the second full moon occurs in a single month.
We will have 8 more full moons
