We definitely should be able to live underground for our entire lives if we have enough food water and oxygen. Vitamin D deficiency is the only problem and we could solve this with supplements. There might also be psychological factors that could possible drive up crime rates and suicide rates. Some debate our very sarcadian rhythms would be disrupted, we could solve this with some form of visual representation of a sun. Although this might not even be necessary due to evidence of people living in opposite schedules than normal circumstances. All in all humans and most animals are very adaptable and persistent
