OK so the answer is actually yes it does keep you fit.

It does because when you ride a bicycle your constantly peddling and your working your leg muscle's! You ride the bicycle and when you peddle you work the leg muscles and being in that bicycle position and they way you hold the handle bars can also improve your posture and help your arm muscles and possibly the muscles in your shoulder blade area. so yes it can keep you in shape but you would have to continuously ride the bicycle not just once a month possibly a couple times a week or even just once a week1 The point is you would have to ride the bike often to keep staying in shape
