Hi. I am researching the dietary supplement Virol that was given to adults and children in the late 1800's and have learned that it was used in cases of wasting illness such as TB or gastric ulcer, etc. It was thick and sweet, therefore very palatable. It was said to "supercede cod liver oil" in it's effectiveness in treating such illnesses. I don't know if it or anything similar is still available today; perhaps a Health Food Store would be a starting point and also pharmacists might have a good idea of a product which would be similar to Virol. Good luck! Janis
My Mam used to give me it in the 1960s and/or early 70s. Remember it well. In a white tub with blue writing on.
