In a way it can because it takes the brain about 20 minutes to realize that the stomach is full. If you eat slower, you will feel full sooner and will eat less. Eating less can help with not gaining weight. The faster you eat, the more food you eat, will add calories that you may not need and be stored as fat, plus if you are watching TV, reading a good book, playing on the computer or console or Surfing the net helps as well because your brain is not paying much to the amount as well! :)
