Moderation is key; enjoying Kurkure occasionally as part of a balanced diet is unlikely to cause weight gain. Yes.
The information that Kurkure has pig extract is absolutely untrue and baseless as Kurkure do not contain any Pork extract. PepsiCo India Holdings Pvt. Ltd does NOT use any animal origin material and their ingredients are 100% vegetarian. The labels of all such products carry the 'vegetarian' logo (green dot within a square) as prescribed by the Prevention of Food Adulteration Rules, 1955.
Rumours that Kurkure contains plastic are completely baseless & malicious. Kurkure is a 100% safe snack made from trusted, high quality daily kitchen ingredients like rice, corn, besan, salt, vegetable, oil and spices . It is also 100% Vegetarian. The reason it burns like plastic because it contains carbohydrate in the form of corn starch and 30% oil, which causes Kurkure to burn. For that matter try burning any kind of namkeens or gol gappas, the result would be the same. The information shared here is, therefore, totally baseless. AIIMS (All India Institute of Medical Science) has also issued a letter saying that they have not issued any such chain mails. For info, visit http://bit.ly/Kurkure-FAQ. Kurkure is a very popular snack in India and is loved by all children. Frito Lay has itroduced a new version of Kurkure, Desi Beats. Its nice and flavourful though I prefer the classic Masala Munch Kurkure. Its simple, spicy and yummmm.. though Desi Beats is a nice change.
Kurkure does not contain plastic for the simple reason being Kurkure is made from edible ingredients including Rice meal, Corn meal, Gram Meal, Edible oil, Seasonings, Salt, Spices and Condiments and Flavors. All of these ingredients are used in the daily kitchens for cooking. If Kurkure contains plastic, then it means the dishes we cook at home also contain plastic. On second thoughts, Kurkure is not edible then how can anyone even eat and digest Kurkure. If at all there was plastic in it.
