It does work, based on science. If you want to lose weight, you can always not eat, or take diet pills so you can lose weight. You can do that diet too though.

Yes. For some reason Diet Coke appears to work particularly well, though the difference isn't overwhelmingly huge (maybe a factor of two; certainly not a factor of ten). The difference is probably more due to the "diet" part (less sugar = less dense) than the "Coke" part.
