Honestly, I'm a flyer too. I gained about 8 pounds and i need to get back to 97-100 pounds in a month. My plan is to eat 1200 or less calories a day. Try to avoid sugars and to not put a lot of salt on foods. Also, exercise at least 2 or 3 times a week. Meaning about 15 minutes stretching to have a good flexibility, 30 to 40 minutes of running and about 10-20 of doing abs workout or weights. This will give you results for sure and it will get you ready for cheer leading.
Flying has NOTHING to do with weight. I am 105 and I am a flyer. There are people who are LIGHTER than me that are my base. The reason they aren't flyers is because they aren't balanced and they are too scared. You have to be brave, very balanced, and have confidence in yourself and your base. Your base has to be strong and you have to trust them. It will take some practice to get balance but it helps. Flyrs should NEVER be over weight and should NEVER EVER try to be under weight. It's not worth risking your health to be a flyer.
It completely depends on your group entirely. You can be very tall, but very light & you could be very short, but very heavy. There is no real answer to that sorry, but I'm 5'2 & i weigh 102
Fast weight loss never works, the faster you lose weight the faster the weight will come back back; and usually it will come back more than before. The only way to lose weight and keep it off is to eat healthy, and exercise; and that takes time.
you can be any weight unless your trying out for the dallas cowboy cheerleaders or anything like that. But if you said you weigh too much you can't be a flyer and you would probaly be a good base or backspotter. With gymnastics you can do cartwheels or easier things like that. Im on a cheerleading team and there is a heavy girl on our team. But you must be able to jump and touch your toes. Just try out the worst they can say is no.It all depends on how heavy you are
If you really want to do it. I say you should because if you think you are good then go for it. Don't worry about how you look.
No. just make sure when you are up in the air to suck up and really help your bases by pushing off their shoulders and you will be fine. have fun! :) I'm a base and i doubt it. We have a fly-er who is about 125 and she pulls her weight up very well. If you really want to fly, and you're that weight, don't worry about it, just make sure to help your bases out!
no your are not to heavy to be a flyer. aslong as you know what you are doing and your bases are good youll be able to get in the air. Dont stress about your weight at all. You are perfect the way you are.
No, Not neccasiarily, In my cheerleading team we have a girl who is quite heavy, but she can still do tuck jumps, toe touches, high kicks etc.... I hope this hepled answer your question! :)
