"Size zero" started when European model Victoria Schweimer famously became anorexic and lost nearly 98 lb, almost costing her her life. The name of the hospital she went to was called "Sijé Cervo" (see-hay ser-vou), and when the story was broadcasted on BBC, the news reporter mispronounced it sige zervo, which later was changed in mockery to size zero, which was a joke about Schweimer's size. Little did they know size zero would later be a common phrase just a few years later.
