You can't make any animal eat hay, or any food for that matter. But when they're hungry, they will eat. Some animals also don't like the cutting of hay that you get. If it's 1st or 2nd cutting that could be why. They think it's kinda dry and plain. Animals have a sense of taste also!
Yes you can eat high volumes of hay to loose weight. The greener the better. You can make hay stew , hay chilli and soothing hay tea.
There could be a number of reasons: dusty hay, the cattle are not used to eating this type of hay, hay tastes bland or too bitter, etc. To make them eat it you could try pouring molasses over the hay, as the taste of the molasses will encourage cattle to eat the hay.
No, pikas eat grass and hay. They make "hay bales" of the grass they collect and store it in their extensive tunnels.
Maybe your calf is eating the hay behind your back. What you can do to make him eat hay is to try mixing the grain with the hay, like take an armful of hay, pour some grain on top and mix just a little bit of it, but leave like 60% of the grain ontop of the pile of hay. The other thing that could be the reason he won't eat hay is he's got grass to eat at, and is eating that instead of that dry, tasteless hay.
Yes. They can eat any kind of hay.
all horses can eat hay/grass. all horses can eat hay/grass.
Yes it is, my horses lay on their hay even when its not intended, but hay is expensive try straw instead. And if you have no other option just make sure to check them often chances are they will eat the hay
Its best for them to eat pelets (make sure its NOT rabbit pelets they r not the same and can eventaily make ur guinea pig VERY sick) They also eat hay. Timothy hay is a good kind my guinea pigs love it! They also like vegitables. But make sure to stock up on the peletts and hay. and on speical ecassions give them vegitables. Hope this helped! :)
It isn't to hard. First decide if you want a holstein or a beef like an angus, hereford, simmetal, etc. Make sure you have a shed and a place to go outside. They dont have to go outside but, Me personally think theydo better when they can have fresh air. If you would have an outside pen make sure it is a good fence because cattle are strong, (I know from expirence). Make sure they have bedding. Bedding is usually corn stalks or straw. You feed it corn and protein, or silage. If it is a holstein steer feed it no hay at all they will get a hay belly and wont do good. If it is a beef steer feed it a little hay and grain. When it reaches anywhere from 1200-1400 lbs butcher the steer.Their is a lot of meat in a steer so you can sell half a beef and still have enough for you and your family. I hope this helps some people out. Thanks!
Yes, hay is a staple of the domesticated horse's diet. Fed only on high quality hay, an average horse might eat about 50 pounds of hay per day.
Yes.
No, it is not safe for sheep to eat moldy hay. Moldy hay can contain mycotoxins which are harmful to sheep and can cause health issues such as respiratory problems and digestive issues. It is best to provide sheep with fresh, high-quality hay to ensure their health and well-being.
