Well sit up help a lot, I am 14 and lost 3 pounds in 1 week just by doing sit ups every night before I went to bed or before I eat, also cut out on chocolate, sweets and anything sugar packed! You can't snack out to make sure you replace:

CHOCOLATE-------> FRUIT

They are big changes in your diet trust me you can easily lose the weight if you just dedicate yourself to the task in hand.

REMEBER:

. Drink lots of water !!!
