You shouldn't have to wait for more than a few weeks. Ask yourself is your hair really dry & Damaged? Or is it moisturized and doing great?! If it is, you shouldn't have a problem. But constantly dying and going swimming in chlorine water can damage it. But you can prevent damage but keeping conditioner in it.
