This is purely from a physics point of view for a bench press of 150Lb = 68kg you multiply it by gravity (9.8) and then by the distance that you lift it of your chest in meters so: 68kg x 9.8 x 0.530m (approxmately the length of your arm) = 353.393joules Then convert the joules to calories by multiplying it by 0.239005736 and then divide it by 1000 to make sure it is in dietary calories, which would bring it to 0.084 calories. Also you need to multiply this value by 4 because muscle is only 24% efficient, so current calorie burn for one rep of 68kg is 0.336 calories but if you are working at 80% of your one rep max you need to multiply it again, by 3, the reason for this is because at 80% you need to use more energy and you become only 1/3 as efficient. So one rep of 150lbs = 1.013557788 calories
