Original entry: 100000000000 calories Correction by thm:- The original figure is way over the top, in fact it is overstating the calories by more than 11 million times... The amount of calories in a given fat or oil varies slightly according to which particular type it is, but all of them have about 9,000 calories [note the small "c" here]. Note that nutritionists and the food industry normally refer to kilocalories [kcal], and usually write this as "Calories" [i.e. with a capital "C"]. Hence in common parlance, 1g of fat has about 9 Calories.
It depends on the type of fat. (Butter, oil, margarine, ect.)
1 gram of oil has 9 calories, so 100 ml (100 grams) of oil contain 900 calories.
In Vegetable Oil, there are 964 calories in 1/2 a cup.
Regular cooking oil (Crisco oil is what I am using for this answer) has 224 grams of fat in 1 cup. Since there are 9 calories per 1 gram of fat, that would be 2016 calories in one cup of oil.
