You should drink 8 cups of water a day. Now if you don't like water then you can drink other things so long as you get your 8 cups a day of liquid. The problem is that not all things are equal in preventing dehydration and if you drink things that could get you dehydrated that defeats the purpose of taking in fluids. The things to watch for are soda and alcohol because these can make you dehydrated.
