The weight you've gained seems to weigh heavier on your family and other people around you than it weighs on your body. If you make their problem your problem, your weight will go up even more.

Your weight increased suddenly for a reason, it could be physical but it is most likely psychological. I believe that you had a problem with your family and a problem fitting in before you gained the weight. Gaining weight is often a response to feelings that you don't belong. If you can recognize the 'weight' problem for what it is, eating comfort (high calorie) things to feel better, you have a better chance to overcome the habit. That's just what it is, a bad habit. You may not be able to do it on your own. First see a medical doctor to eliminate any physical problem. If it isn't a physical dysfunction (don't be disappointed, be grateful), then the next step is either a nutritionist or a psychologist. If you have the means, maybe both. Do not knuckle under other people's opinion of you. And don't 'band aid' the problem with some weight loss program that you have to pay for, that will not solve the underlying problem. It's up to you to take control, get to the bottom of your emotional problems, beat the situation yourself. The first couple of steps will be the hardest, but if you don't take them, nothing will change.
