Cow pie is cow feces, thus it really shouldn't be considered something edible.
i did and it tasted good
Cow pie is good as fertilizer, but not as food. You see, the term "cow pie" means a big pile of cow dung, poo, feces, whatever you want to call it, it does not ever mean it's a food item. (Nor are "road apples", which are horse droppings)
Cow dung, cow patty, cow pie, cow feces, etc.
It's because it looks something like a pie, only without the doughy crusts. Other people call them "pats."
A cow patty or cow pie is a pile of feces that came from....you guessed it...a cow. Or any bovine, be it a bull, steer or heifer. They are a brown, round pile of cow feces that looks sort of like a pie or a patty.
Cow feces is not grown anywhere. It accumulates in the colon of a cow and then is excreted as feces in the form of a cow pie.
A cow pat, cow pie or prairie muffin is cow dung in its natural state.
