Someone previously responded "Sugar is obviously vegan."
This is not necessarily the case. Bone char is used in the sugar refining industry.
Unfortunately I cannot answer the original question but was concerned that the blanket statement that "(s)ugar is obviously vegan" is at the very least misleading to those who do not use bone char processed sugar.
Brown sugar is vegan, as it contains no animal products.
Sun chips Original are not vegan. They have the ingredient SUGAR. This is not vegan

Kahlua is not a distilled spirit; it is a coffee-flavored liqueur made with rum, sugar, vanilla, and coffee. The rum used in Kahlua is produced separately through a distillation process.
Yes, turbinado is vegan. It is often used as a replacement for refined granulated white sugar in recipes. The reason why your traditional white refined sugar is not considered vegan (or vegetarian), is because most refineries (not all) use the bone char method of making the sugar white. Turbinado sugar uses the expel-press method. It's safe for vegan diets.
No, Domino Sugar uses bone char filters.

powdered sugar is simply white table sugar that has been pulverized. traditional cane sugar (as opposed to beet sugar) is refined through charcoal, which some times consists of bone char from animals. vegans are opposed to this because it means an animal product is part of the process of creating the sugar. vegan powdered sugar is made with unrefined sugar that has been pulverized with corn starch, in order to simulate the consistency of non-vegan powdered sugar.
Lactose is a sugar found in milk and dairy products, so it is not considered vegan as it comes from animal sources.
Kahlua is made by combining rum, sugar, coffee, and vanilla. The key steps in the production process include brewing coffee, mixing it with sugar and vanilla, adding rum, and allowing the mixture to age and blend flavors before bottling.
