Lordosis is a medical term that refers to the natural inward curvature of the lumbar spine (lower back) and, to a lesser extent, the cervical spine (neck). It is a normal anatomical feature, but excessive lordosis, often called hyperlordosis, can lead to discomfort or pain and may indicate underlying issues such as obesity or muscular imbalances. Proper posture and exercises can help manage and correct excessive lordosis.
