Obese people have an increased risk of anything that occurs because of blood clots; including the three most recognizable infarctions - Heart Attack, Stroke, and Pulmonary Embolism.

They also have an increased risk of Type 2 Diabetes. Type 2 Diabetes is the decrease of your body's ability to absorb or use insulin as needed. Most obese people produce normal amounts of insulin, just don't use it correctly. Weight loss back into the normal range usually cures Type 2 ( but not all the damage that may have been caused while diabetic).

Another condition obese people have an enhanced risk of contracting is Gout, which is the build up of Uric Acid Crystals in the body, primarily the knees. It's a type of Arthritis actually.

They also have more problems with osteoarthritis (wear and tear arthritis) in the knees & feet. But bone density in legs and hips is better, weight bearing bones respond well to the extra weight. (Much better to stay near normal weight & take calcium/magnesium supplements.)

Greater risk of congestive heart failure due to added load on the heart.
