Sugar is a sticky substance and if left in the bloodstream (instead of being burned as energy) the particles will start to stick to the cells. The result is that if you are consuming a lot of sugar each day, you will get more wrinkles, will experience a lack of mobility in the joints, dry brittle nails and hair and a range of other health problems.

Sugar is also acidic so if left in the mouth it dissolves the coating on teeth (inviting cavities).

Sugar also triggers insulin release which attempts to protect the body from excess sugar, but it does so by moving sugar from the blood into fat cell storage (making you fat).

In summary, sugar makes you fat, destroys your teeth, causes premature aging, causes Arthritis and causes bad skin, hair and nails.

And that's the short version of bad things, there is also potential damage to internal organs and various other health risks depending on genetic factors.
