As birds are just a branch of dinosaurs which survived the extinction event, which killed all non-avian dinosaurs 65 million years ago, they are a prime focus of study of dinosaur physiology. Although birds acquired unique adaptations in the last 65 million years, a careful comparison between dinosaur remains and birds reveals much more then just dinosaurs fossils.
