Were there any dinosaurs in Hawaii?

This is an interesting question in the fact that the Hawaiian Island Chain is considered "NEW" geologicaly speaking. Also, the islands that form quickly erode away; returning to the sea. So, if you are looking for prehistoric creatures, you may want to focus your question towards oceanic type species. As for the land creatures, fossil remains would not exist since fossil remains form in sedimentary conditions. The Island chain is of course metamorphic (fast cooling lava). For avian type species, we do see newly evolved birds, but they can be traced to avian creatures living today, such as the goose, finch, etc.

The islands of Hawaii are relatively new in geologic terms, about 30 million years for the oldest part of the chain, while the age of the dinosaurs ended 65 million years ago. So while there may be fossilized remains they would not be of dinosaurs.
