Diamante Poems are seven lined poems that are in a diamond shape. The form was developed by Iris Tiedt in A New Poetry Form: The Diamante (1969). Line1- One word (noun) that contrasts the word in Line 7

Line 2-Two words (adjectives) that describe the word in Line 1 and can NOT end in "ing"

Line 3-Three words (action verbs) ending in "ing" that relate to the word in Line 1

Line 4- Four Words (nouns), first two words relate to Line 1, the last two words relate to Line 7

Line 5-Three words (action verbs)ending in "ing"that relate to the word in Line 7 Line 6-Two words (adjectives) that describe the word in Line 7 and can NOT end in "ing"

Line 7-One word (noun) that contrasts the word in Line 1 For example: Fire Bright, Warm Glowing,Heating,Burning Inferno, Flame, Frost, Blizzard Chilling, Cooling,Freezing Cold, Frozen Ice
