Dinoctyosis is a form of endocytosis specific to certain protozoan organisms, particularly dinoflagellates. In this process, these cells engulf particulate matter, such as other microorganisms or organic debris, by folding their cell membrane around the material. This allows dinoflagellates to obtain nutrients in their aquatic environments, playing a crucial role in their survival and ecological interactions.
