When it was alive, Tyrannosaurus was the top predator. It probably was the apex predator of all time. Smart enough to hunt in "flocks" considering that they're related to birds and strong enough to take down the most dangerous herbivore, Triceratops, no large cat or northern bear of today can match the ferocity and ability of this creature.

Possibly, but t-rex was bigger than any other tyrranosaurid (that we know of). Tarbosaurus would be like the t-rex of asia nano-t was to small for a scavenger and albertasaurus wasnt as havily built as other tyrranosaurs. T-rex was probaly in a similar niche as a lion today. It probalyscavenged less then it hunted.
