Brontosaurus is actually an invalid name for Apatosaurus excelsus. The oldest known Apatosaurus excelsus fossils are 154 million years old.
based on grammar, this isn't even a question. Saurus is a suffix maybe they mean "what does the suffix 'saurus' mean. brontasaurus means thunder lizard. so saurus is either thunder or lizard. and given that it also exists in the word "dinasaur" it probably means lizard.
Some eons ago, their was a society of brainisauri that made a valiant attempt to organize the varieties of lizards. For a short period, there was a curious cooperation and rocks were set up with the help of the brontasaurus society whose members were known for their brawn, but were somewhat dimwitted. There was a form of democracy for a while, and the thesauri were gaining momentum in giving new versions of meaning, a form of synonymogy to this society. An unexpected invasion of carnotauri occurred and the army of brontasauri were slow to react. The invaders fed eagerly upon the smaller brainisauri and thesauri, leaving not a trace. Centuries later, long after a destructive meteor strike that changed the inhabitant development, these edifices were discovered by a group of humanauri and used for religious ceremonies.
